NCAA Tournament Running Commentary Part 1

Recap of the early games that have gone final:

#7 BYU vs. #10 Florida:  Florida turned this game into a tussle and had a chance to win it on an inbound lob at the buzzer.  However, the Gators’ youth and endurance ran out of gas, as BYU hit a key 3-pointer in double overtime to give them the go-ahead lead and the win.

#6 Notre Dame vs. #11 Old Dominion:  ODU lead for most of the game, and held on to knock off the Irish.  What an utterly pathetic performance by ND and Luke Harangody.  Four points?? Mike Brey, call your office.  Good job by the Monarchs.  They ultimately proved that UNI deserved a higher seeding and in turn, ODU shouldn’t have been an #11.

#2 Villanova vs. #15 Robert Morris:  ‘Nova, that was close.  Real damn close.  Scottie Reynolds bailed them out and squeaked out an overtime win over a very good Robert Morris.  Morris led by as much as 9 in the 2nd half.  I have ‘Nova going to the Final Four, but I’m regretting that pick right now.  The Wildcats hasn’t shaken off their slump.
